During Sunday School, children explore the Bible in age appropriate groups, share their feelings and ideas about God, and participate in music time. Sunday School teachers seek to build relationships with all the children and inspire them to build relationships with God and His church.
Sunday School Schedule:
Sunday School is held from 9:00 A.M. - 10 A.M. (September - May). Sunday School is for children in pre-school through grade 8. A high school bible study group meets the 1st, 2nd and 4th week each month in the conference room.
The Board of Christian Education would like input regarding the Sunday School schedule. If you would like to provide feedback, please fill out the survey form linked below:
Sunday School Organization:
East Orrington Congregational Church uses the Workshop Rotation Model to organize its Sunday School activities and lessons. Classes rotate through four different areas during each session. At the end of each session the entire Sunday School gets together to celebrate their new knowledge. Rotation areas differ depending on each session's theme but usually include art, music, theatre, games and cooking. Please see our Sunday School Schedule for dates and session themes.
Sunday School Mission Projects:
The Sunday School participates each year in the shoebox ministry for Samaritan's Purse. Also, on every 5th Sunday, the entire Sunday School works together to prepare a meal for the homeless. Students in grades 5 and up serve the meal at the Columbia Street Baptist Church in Bangor.
